I’m definitely an early-starter. When you run a small personalised gift business, Christmas doesn’t wait for the first frost - it sneaks in while everyone else is still carving pumpkins.
When Christmas really starts for me
May: I begin ordering seasonal stock, testing new ideas and researching what might be trending this year. It feels ridiculous typing “bauble” while the sun is out, but future-me is always grateful.
July: the first Christmas orders start to trickle in from the super-organised crew.
October: full festive mode. The desk is a festive zone, I'm putting an early bird sale on clearance items, and the ever popular dog baubles are already flying out the door.
Confession: I have absolutely “popped into the garden centre for a look” at the Christmas displays in September. Just to browse… obviously. ✨
Work vs home timelines
At work, Christmas is basically half my year. At home, I try to hold off until November, but the moment the darker nights set in and the kids start circling the Smyths catalogue... I can't help myself and up goes the tree! NGL - I have been known to have a lounge like the tinsel fairy exploded, while the Halloween decorations are still up outside.
The dog bauble check-in
You already know how much I love making the personalised dog baubles. I’ve got 80+ breeds with multiple colourings, and I’m still adding more.
Do I have your dog?
If not, drop me a DM with a photo and the breed details and I’ll see what I can do. I love a good challenge.

Honestly, I don’t think there is such a thing. If you want to start in October, enjoy every twinkle for as long as possible. If you wait for the first of December and do it all in one big swoop, that’s perfect too. My advice: do what makes it feel magical for your family.
Come chat with me on Instagram and tell me when you start Christmas. Early bird or December purist?
